Why Study Health Promotion at Wilkes?
Health promotion specialists or health educators focus on educating and encouraging others to follow healthy lifestyles. Serving all ages and backgrounds, health educators develop and implement programs that can help people better understand their health and wellbeing in areas that include nutrition, exercise, drug and alcohol use, stress management, goal setting, healthy relationships, navigating health and community resources and more.
At Wilkes, you’ll work alongside uniquely qualified faculty with expertise in nursing, pharmacy and education and take advantage of our partnerships with community outreach programs, cooperative learning sites and healthcare organizations to gain hands-on experience in the field.
Additionally, students in this program will be well-prepared to sit for the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC) Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) Exam.
